This past November, the Staff Senate Special Events and Community Building Committee helped out at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen (TASK). The volunteers helped serve the many hungry people who rely on the Soup Kitchen for their daily meals. Not only was it a personally rewarding experience for all involved, but also served as a great way for TCNJ staff members to get to know one another out of the work environment. Many of the participants remarked that they met people they will never forget, especially the dedicated TASK staff.
Special thanks to all who volunteered: Committee Chairperson Carol Macleod (Human Resources); Janis Blayne Paul and student worker Kelly Dowd ’07 (Public Affairs); Terry Harker and Kevin Ewell (School of Education); Ann DeGennaro (Campus Wellness); Pete Manetas, Keith Dewey, and Lisa McCarthy (Development and Alumni Affairs); Nino Scarpati (Nursing); Sean Stallings (Residential and Community Development); Larry Gage (Psychological Counseling Services); Colleen Perry (Career Services); Janice Vermeychuk (Health Services); Brunelle Tellis (Psychology); Matthew Middleton and Christina Puglia (Admissions); and Angela Sgroi (Academic Grants and Sponsored Research) and her son, Joe.
The Staff Senate would like to thank to the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs and the Office of Career Services for donating items to TASK as part of the event. In addition, special thanks go out to Marilyn Bowers (Health Services) for donating handmade gifts made by the knitting group from The Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville.
